M32 Young American

This campaign is run by Young American sailors, Carina Becker and Chris Manson-Hing. The team sailed the 2019 M32 Midtown Cup in Newport, RI and since then have combined with Young American Sailing to further their campaign. The team is sailing the 2020 Miami Winter Series which started in January and hope to train and compete in the 2020 M32 Worlds next fall.

This campaign would not have been possible without the help of Sail Newport, the M32 Class and the Magenta Project. Starting in the fall of 2018, Carina Becker participated in the Magenta Project Mentorship Program in which her mentor, Sally Barkow, suggested she use the boat for the 2019 Midtown Cup. Sally previously used the boat in the World Match Race Series and in the M32 circuit. She connected Carina with the owner of the boat, Brad Reed of Sail Newport, and with Dave Doucett, the North America M32 class manager. From there, Carina worked with Dave and Brad to create a youth team in the class.

Follows is the class schedule:

The team has a goal of raising $10,000 to compete in the 2020 Winter Series, but hopes to meet their total goal of raising $50,000 allowing them to compete in all allotted events through the 2020 World Championship. Please consider donating in support of the Young American M32 Team, your support is very much appreciated.
